September 9 – Dr. Hortense Spillers, Provost's Distinguished Women's Lecturer, presents "The Idea of Black Culture" at 5:00 pm in the McKenna Hall Auditorium, reception to follow. Dr. Spillers is an endowed professor of English at Vanderbilt University. Sponsored by the Department of English.
September 11 – Public archaeology lecture by Dr. Charlie Cobb, 4:00-5:15. More details to follow.
