Kevin Rahill ’12 likes challenges. He liked them when he was on the swim team at Notre Dame, and he must have especially liked them when he decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in 2013. But he didn’t attempt the feat for the physical challenge alone.
Emily Bieniek, a 2013 graduate of the Department of Anthropology, recently published a new novel, On the Great Land, with Ward Street Press! It is a novel based on Emily's experiences as an intern in Nome, Alaska, and focuses on issues of community, trauma, and healing in Yup'ik families. As an anthropology major, Emily was an excellent student in courses such as Native American Literature, which inspired her research in the Arctic. The book is attracting excellent reviews!
