Phoenix Pedro

Biography

Phoenix holds an M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Notre Dame (2021), and a B.A. in Anthropology from California State University, Long Beach (2019). As an NIH-funded BUILD Scholar, Phoenix's undergraduate research included secondary data analysis of TEST (Transgender Experience STudy), conducted by Dr. Zachary DuBois, concerning transgender men's health, and ethnographic research with the HERE (Homelessness Ethnographic Research and Education) Lab on the barriers to accessing outreach services for individuals experiencing houselessness in Long Beach, CA. 

Currently, Phoenix is interested in biocultural and political economic approaches to study the physiological embodiment of stigma and stress for individuals experiencing houselessness in South Bend, IN.
